1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon sugar
2 eggs
1. Grease a 3 cup tin or mold with butter.
2. Remove crusts from bread and spread with butter and then jam.
3. Cut bread into 1″ wide strips and place them lightly into the mold, filling it nearly to the top.
4. Beat eggs well, add sugar and milk and mix together then pour over bread in the mold. Let stand for 30 minutes.
5. Cover the mold with a lid or greased paper and place in a saucepan with boiling water halfway up the mold. Steam for and hour and turn out. The pudding must steam very slowly so the eggs don’t curdle.
