Current Exhibit: Peterborough in Pictures

Main Street PeterboroughThe exhibit features an eclectic selection of photographs from the Society’s extensive collection. It include images of downtown as well as West Peterborough, South Peterborough and other outlying areas.

The exhibit also includes some of the earliest images of town dating from the 1860s, as well as photographs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The photos are arranged in groups that explore a particular place or theme that illuminates a part of Peterborough’s past. Many of the images are dramatically enlarged allowing the viewer to see details not easily seen in the original prints.

Explore the exhibit with Director Michelle Stahl at a gallery talk! Learn about the history of Peterborough through the exhibit images and see how the town has grown and changed over the years. Gallery talks will be held on February 15 at 11 am, March 20 at 1 pm and April 27 at 10 am. The gallery talk is included with museum admission ($3, free for members).

The Monadnock Center is open Wednesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
