Community Conversations: Where Does the ConVal School District Go From Here?

April 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Map of ConVal School District Towns

Nine towns created the ConVal School District in 1967 with the aim to provide the highest quality education for the community’s children. After 57 years, the community is faced with tough decisions about consolidation and school closures. A historic vote to amend the District’s articles of agreement on March 12 is having far-reaching impact on the district and the member towns. This Community Conversation asks the question, “Where does the ConVal District go from here?”

Community Conversations feature short presentations from a panel of local citizens followed by questions, comments and conversation with the audience. Presenters for this conversation are Bethany Craig (Bennington), Gary Gorski (Peterborough), Tom Burgess (Peterborough) and Katherine Heck (Greenfield).

Community Conversations are free and all are welcome!

The Community Conversation Series

Community Conversations is a series that explores issues impacting our communities. A partnership between the Monadnock Center for History and Culture and the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript, each Conversation features local experts talking about challenges faced by our communities. The program provides residents with the opportunity to learn more about issues impacting their communities, to engage in a civil dialog with speakers and with each other, and to come away with a sense that there are things that individuals and communities can do to foster change and improvement.

Community Conversations happen in Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center. Ramp access is available at the rear of the building and the door opens directly into Bass Hall. The Monadnock Center’s restroom facilities are fully-accessible and located adjacent to the hall.
