Nancy and Samuel Prescott made their home in the Phoenix Mill House in the 1830s. Samuel was an overseer at the Phoenix Mill, a large textile mill that stood at the corner of Main and Grove Streets in Peterborough for 100 years. The Phoenix Mill House now serves as a living history house where visitors can experience what life was like for a Northern New England mill worker at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

The Phoenix Mill House is located behind the Monadnock Center’s main building, 19 Grove Street, Peterborough.
