Elizabeth Yates McGreal (1905-2001), was an author, humanitarian, and activist best known for her 1950 book Amos Elizabeth Yates McGrealFortune, Free Man. The author of more than 20 books for adults and children, McGreal began her career writing in New York in the 1920s. After her marriage in 1929, Elizabeth and William McGreal spent a decade in Europe before settling in an old farmhouse in Peterborough that they named Shieling.

At this Lunch and Learn, we will explore McGreal’s writing career and her collaborations with illustrator Nora Unwin, her work on behalf of the NH Association for the Blind, and her efforts to preserve the environment.

Lunch and Learn programs begin with a delicious lunch of wrap sandwiches and salad followed by a light dessert. After the meal, guest enjoy a lively, illustrated talk.

Tickets are $15 ($12 for Monadnock Center members). Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance. Buy your tickets online below or call the Monadnock Center at (603)924-3235.
