Lunch & Learn: Tales from the One-Room Schoolhouse

Get into the swing of back-to-school time at our September Lunch & Learn, Tales from the One-Room Schoolhouse. This talk will look at the history of one-room schoolhouses in the Monadnock region, how public education developed in New Hampshire and the ways the days of the one-room schoolhouse continue to shape education in the state today. Along the way, we will share some schoolhouse tales found in local histories.

After the program, the Monadnock Center’s District #8 Schoolhouse will be open for guests to enjoy.

Lunch & Learn programs begin at noon with a delicious light lunch of wrap sandwiches, salad, chips and a special dessert. After lunch, we enjoy a lively, illustrated talk.

Tickets

Tickets are $18 ($15 for Monadnock Center members) and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are not available at the door. Purchase your tickets online below or call us at (603)924-3235.

Accessibility Note:

Lunch & Learn programs are held in Bass Hall. For those who do not use stairs, Bass Hall may be accessed from the rear entrance of the building. The Monadnock Center’s restroom facilities are fully accessible.
