Lunch & Learn: The Two Wilson Taverns

April 25 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

historic photo of the William Wilson Tavern

Explore Peterborough’s 18th century history with a look at the two Wilson Taverns operated by a father and a son. Robert Wilson ran a tavern on the road to Sharon in the days of the Revolution. Later, after Robert’s tavern burned, his son built a new Wilson Tavern not far from where he grew up in his father’s public house. Both Wilson Taverns served as focal points for community life. At these taverns, people learned the latest news, socialized, conducted business, and mustered to answer the call to revolution.

Lunch & Learn programs begin with a light luncheon of wrap sandwiches, salad, and chips followed by a sweet treat for dessert. After lunch, we present a lively illustrated talk. Seating is limited and all tickets must be purchased in advance. Lunch & Learn programs often sell out, so we encourage you to get your tickets early.

Tickets: $18 ($15 for Monadnock Center members)
