MacDowell Downtown: Jeanne Liotta

April 1, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

soonitwillbetoohotAward-winning filmmaker Jeanne Liotta is in her second MacDowell Colony residency. She will tell stories and share images from her recent collaboration with climatologists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Her contributions helped create NOAA’s Science On a Sphere, a giant animated globe that is visiting institutions to educate people of all ages about earth system science and climate change. Witness the meeting of cinematic arts and hard science. A still image from “Soon it would be too hot” (2014) by Jeanne Liotta.

From March to November an artist-in-residence presents their work to the public on the first Friday of the month at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture in Peterborough. This is free and open to all.
