Jazz aficionados in the Monadnock region have a real treat in store when the Rich Greenblatt and Brass Taco brings their show to the Bass Hall. This modern jazz group mixes in swing, funk, odd-time signatures, South American, and the blues. The band showcases Greenblatt’s lyrical and rhythmically quirky compositions combined with each musician’s extraordinary improvisational gifts. Each song has a unique mood and style. Get ready for a melodic, jazz band that swings hard, grooves deep, and soars on ballads.

Boston based jazz vibraphonist and band leader of The Rich Greenblatt Vibes Group is a musician with “dazzling speed and a truly magical touch” writes John Blenn in Good Times magazine.
Rich has recorded 4 CDs as a band leader, Hat Trick, Hot and Dry, and Mooin’, and just out – My Take. . My Take features Boston jazz greats: Greg Hopkins on trumpet and flugelhorn, Allan Chase on alto and bari sax, Kevin Harris on piano, John Lockwood on bass and Bob Tamagni on drums.
Each recording features a different band and instrumentation. Both Hat Trick and My Take showcase Rich’s original compositions. Hot & Dry, features special guests, Dennis Irwin on bass and Winard Harper on drums and Mooin’ features drummer Joe Hunt.
Rich has played in jazz and blues festivals in the U.S. and Europe and recorded with The Be-Bop Guitars, The Jazz Composers’ Alliance, Hide Tokunaga, The Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, The Paramount Brass Quintet, and the rhythm and blues group, Inspector Tuppence.
Over the years he has played with such great artists as Kurt Elling, Billy Mitchell, Kevin Hayes, Valery Ponamarev, Bill Charlap, Greg Hutchinson, Dennis Irwin, Winard Harper, Joe Hunt, Teddy Charles and Oscar Castro-Neves.
He is currently an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music.
