Music in Bass Hall: Valentine’s Jazz with Stephanie Hurley

Vocalist Stephanie Hurley returns for the third annual Valentines Jazz concert, featuring the songs that describe and inspire romance.

Stephanie Hurley is an enticing and engaging performer with a gift for conveying the subtle nuances embodied in romantic jazz.  She has worked with a number of bands throughout central New England, including the Bedford Big Band. She is an accomplished vocalist in many genres of music including a cappella, musicals, jazz, pop, Irish, and classical. She graduated with honors from Keene State College in May 2003, receiving a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Music History.

 

LynnLovellLynn Lovell has been performing as a Bassist and music educator in the Pioneer Valley area for the past 30 years. She regularly appears with various orchestras (principal bassist – Pioneer Valley Symphony and Holyoke Civic Symphony) and jazz/swing combos (Gypsy Wranglers and Butterfly Swing). She has performed at venues throughout New England at music festivals, as well as at the 100th anniversary of Carnegie Hall.  She teaches at Mount Holyoke College, Northampton Community Music Center and at her private studio. In addition, she owns and operates Bass Rentals. She also founded and administrates the Western New England Double Bass Society.

ChrisAlbertson

Chris Albertson  began studying drums at 8 years old and played in a variety of rock bands through junior high and early high school until beginning his study of guitar. He went on to get his B.S. in Music Education with a concentration in Classical and Jazz Guitar at Plymouth State University. Since then, Chris has been a prolific composer, player and teacher. His performance experience includes working with The Platters, Amy London, the Vermont Philharmonic, Straight No Chaser, Neal Martin and many others. His solo releases include: “Journey Towards the Light”, “Ikala”,“Soul Flight” and“Animal Songs for Kids of All Ages” which is available through Cleopatra Records.
