Music in Bass Hall presents Jamie Laval

May 11 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Evening of Celtic Music and Mythic Tales
with master fiddler and storyteller Jamie Laval

Recognized throughout the U.S. and Britain as one of the premier performers of traditional Celtic music on the international music scene today, Jamie Laval creates rapt audiences with his passionate virtuoso performances, uncanny imitation of Highland bagpipes, and engaging stories.

The evening will feature toe-tapping melodies, traditional folk songs, and the recounting of ancient tales that help recreate the beautiful atmosphere of ancient Celtic lands.

“One of the hottest fiddlers out there” (Asheville Citizen-Times) and “The next Alasdair Fraser” (Scotland Herald), Laval performed for Her Majesty the Queen, appeared on Dave Matthews’ platinum Some Devil album, and presented a TEDx Talk on the value of arts in our communities. Murmurs and Drones, Laval’s most recent album, won the popular vote for Best World Traditional Album in the 2012 Independent Music Awards. Laval is also skilled composer, arranger of symphonic scores, and devoted educator.

Currently making his home in Tryon, North Carolina, Laval grew up in the Pacific Northwest where he received his musical training at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. During the early years of his career he was a member of the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, the Seattle Opera, and the Victoria Symphony. Learn more about Jamie Laval here.
