Music in Bass Hall | Virginia Eskin | Brahms, Chopin, Beach, and Ragtime

November 10, 2013 @ 3:00 pm

$12.00 – $15.00
Virginia Eskin

Virginia Eskin

The Monadnock Center for History and Culture is proud to present pianist Virginia Eskin in a concert of classical and ragtime music on Sunday, November 10th at 3:00 p.m. This is the final concert for the 2013 Music in Bass Hall Concert series.

Eskin, a performer, teacher, and recording artist, has appeared on stages throughout the United States and Europe and regularly lectures at Boston University, Keene State, Harvard, Northeastern, and many other universities. She has long been an advocate for the works of women composers, and her Bass Hall performance will include a discussion of her combined book/CD project: Girl Genius: The Early Life of Amy Cheney Beach. Joining Virginia for this part of the program will be author Jane Eklund.

In concert, Eskin is a force of nature.  Following her St. Petersburg (Russia) recital in 2011, a critic wrote, “Virginia Eskin is an absolute master of her craft.”  The Boston Globe’s music critic Richard Dyer wrote that  “her performances have vivacity, panache and soul.”
