New Hampshire Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty- Film Screening with Discussion

November 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

NH Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty- the road to repeal
The New Hampshire Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty presents a new documentary video on the death penalty in the state with a discussion to follow the screening.

“The most significant obstacle to repealing the death penalty in New Hampshire continues to be the notion that it’s needed to protect law enforcement officers and properly prosecute homicide defendants. However, a number of prominent voices from across the law enforcement spectrum in New Hampshire now say otherwise.

In a recently released short documentary video, veterans of New Hampshire police, prosecution, corrections and the criminal justice system share their perspectives on why New Hampshire can live without the death penalty.

Please join us at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture on November 29, at 7:00 p.m., to watch the 25-minute film and learn about how citizens can become effective activists in ending this inhumane, costly and ultimately ineffective punishment.

The event will be hosted by local attorney L. Phillips Runyon III, former presiding justice of the 8th Circuit Court.  Phil will be joined by one or more of the individuals featured in the documentary for a discussion after the film is shown.  Refreshments will be served.

This event is sponsored by the NH Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, and is in preparation for a new repeal campaign during in 2019 legislative session.

This event is free and all are welcome. Donations will further the cause and are fully tax-deductible.
