Phoenix Mill House Tour
April 24 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am

The Phoenix Mill House has seen 220 years of history from its early days as a millworker’s home through the 20th century when it served as a the Red Cross headquarters during the world wars and later as an artist’s studio. On this small group tour, led by the center’s director Michelle Stahl, guests will learn about the home life of Phoenix Mill overseer Samuel Prescott and his family in the 1830s. The tour will discuss the house’s construction and layout, the furnishings, and the home’s history after the Phoenix Mill closed.
The tour will be a small group discussion, giving participants the chance to ask questions, to share knowledge, and to see the furnishings and artifacts up close.
If the spring weather is pleasant, we may also see ‘Samuel Prescott’ working in his kitchen garden!
Tours take place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and will be approximately 30-40 minutes. The tour is free but registration is required. Each tour is limited to a maximum of 4 participants.
Masks are required. Doors will be open during the tour to maximize air circulation.
