Village Cemetery Tour

Visit the historic Village Cemetery in Peterborough for a guided tour of this Victorian burying ground on Saturday, September 16 at 10:30 a.m. Through the life stories of Peterborough’s 19th century citizens, guests will learn about the town and what life was like in the 1800s. ‘Meet’ businessmen, an abolitionist, a town historian, and twin sisters who spent their lives working side by side in the town’s textile mills. The tour will also explore gravestone symbolism and Victorian mourning practices.
The Village Cemetery Tour is limited to 25 participants. Although the tour is free, all participants must register in advance.

Cemetery tours are held rain or shine. In the event of thunderstorms, the tour will be canceled.
Participants should meet at the cemetery. The Village Cemetery is located on the east side of Concord Street, Peterborough. Parking is on the street.

This cemetery tour involves walking over uneven terrain and may not be suitable for everyone. Practical footwear is recommended.
