Weather Permitting: Curator Gallery Talk

July 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Our new exhibit, Weather Permitting: New Hampshire Weather History is now open. Join us for this Curator’s Gallery Talk  and learn about the hot, cold, wet, dry and everything in between! We will look at some of the extreme weather NH has experienced as well as the ways we have forecasted, measured, and communicated about the weather. See a selection of locally made thermometers and barometers, historic almanacs, and weather flags. Explore the history of floods, hurricanes, blizzards, and heat waves that have struck the Monadnock region over the last 200 years.

Do you know what what New England weather event has been the most deadly? Do you know about the Cold Friday or the Year without a Summer? Learn about these and more in this curator-led talk!

Museum admission: $3 (free for members, children under 12).
