Lunch & Learn- Benjamin Russell’s Peterborough
In the early 20th century, affluent residents transformed an aging 19th century mill town into a new modern village. Their vision was realized by architect Benjamin F.W. Russell of the Boston firm Little & Russell. Hired by Clara Foster Bass to design a permanent home to preserve the town’s history, Russell’s design for the Historical Building shaped the town’s new buildings and even re-shaped some of its old structures. At this Lunch & Learn, we will learn about Benjamin Russell’s career and examine the ways his vision created the Peterborough we know today.
Lunch & Learn programs begin with a delicious lunch of wrap sandwiches, salad, and chips followed by a sweet treat. After the meal, we enjoy a lively illustrated talk.
