Frank Weston Benson (1862-1951) was a painter and chairman of the painting department at the Museum of Fine Arts School, Boston. Primarily known for his impressionist portraits, Benson also made images of sporting and wildlife. At this Lunch & Learn, we will examine Benson’s sporting works and his connections to the Dublin Art Colony. Lunch & Learn includes a selection of wraps, salad, and a light dessert. New Hampshire's favorite fall fruit is on the menu for our October Hearth Cooking Saturday. Stop by the Phoenix Mill House to sample apple recipes prepared over the open hearth and learn about life in a 1830s mill village from our costumed interpreters, the Prescott Family. Learn the stories of immigrant families who left their homelands to make a new life in the Monadnock Region in this special exhibit at the Monadnock Center. Through images, family stories, and objects, Immigrant Stories traces the journeys and lives of immigrants from the British Isles, Italy, Quebec, Lebanon, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
